Those people... those miners... living in the hills... They took my daughter!

I have to get her back. I just have to. I can't let them... It's a promise that I swear to you Lynn. Swear it on myself. I won't let them have our child! No matter what happens, no matter what I go through I will get her back.

Appearance: Not quite tall, yet not quite short, Doug stands around 5'8 with a slender, average build. With deep blue eyes that are covered by steel glasses, and brown hair that extends to his ears with bangs that cover his forehead. Doug has slight facial hair; a thin mustache and beard that covers his face, but not entirely. It merely looks as if he hasn't shaved in over several months, and not years. Since Doug really isn't one to dress himself up, he wears the casual clothing attire; his clothing being that of brown pants and a white dress shirt when the story takes place. Underneath, he wears a treasured necklace with "The Star of David" around his neck.

Personality: A friendly guy, Doug isn't known to talk back, but once in the comfort of someone he trusts, he'll have no problem saying things behind another's back. Pretty much laid-back, Doug really doesn't take the initiative and works better in small groups as a partner and not leader. That doesn't mean he isn't determined enough though. He'll spend hours on trying to fix or repair something and when provoked or angered enough, he'll fight back. With enough reason, his adrenaline will kick into high gear and Doug will strive to reach his aim. He gets along well with most of the Carter family, young Bobby the most, but is overall a nice guy.

Background: Doug works as a telemarketing communicator and married to Lynne Carter-Bukowski who helps her husband with the store, and together the two have a daughter, named Catherine, who is just a few months old. Though Doug is a Liberal and Lynne comes from a family of Conservatives, he has a hard time getting along with his father-in-law, Bob. But despite the way they were raised growing up, the two love each other regardless of differences. Because it was Bob and Ethel's 25th Anniversary, the Carter's invited Doug and Lynn to celebrate it in San Diego, but not forgetting to make it an adventure! Instead of taking a plane like the average person, Bob decided that it'd be more thrilling to travel the desert.

But once their quaint, if not boring, trip was turned around upon having a popped tire, they found out that it was a setup to lure in food for those living in the hills. One disaster led to another and Doug found himself widowed and determined to get back his daughter who'd been kidnapped.
